Comet Lulin from our backyard in Green Valley, Arizona, on February 25, 2009, using a Meade LX-200 telescope and a SBIG ST-2000XM camera. This is a combination of five 30-second exposures.

Deep Sky

NGC 891 from my observatory near Plain, Washington, in September, 2009, using a Takahashi TOA-130 telescope and a SBIG ST-2000XM camera (unbinned, RGB 100 minutes each; Lum 205 minutes).

NGC 7331 galaxy group from my observatory near Plain, Washington, in August, 2009, using a Takahashi TOA-130 telescope and a SBIG ST-2000XM camera (unbinned, RGB 60, 60, 75 minutes; Lum 130 minutes).

M51 (Whirlpool Galaxy) from my observatory near Plain, Washington, in July, 2009, using a Takahashi TOA-130 telescope and a SBIG ST-2000XM camera (unbinned, RGB 60 minutes each; Lum 150 minutes).

Moon

Photo taken of the full moon an hour after the complete lunar eclipse on October 27, 2004, from my backyard in Seattle. I held a Nikon CoolPix digital camera up to the 25mm eyepiece of a 6" f/8 Dobsonian reflector.

Photo taken of a 10.4 day moon on Feb. 18, 2005, from my backyard in Seattle. It was taken with a Nikon CoolPix 5000 digital camera held up to the eyepiece of a 6" f/8 Dobsonian reflector by an Orion SteadyPix camera mount.

Cygnus Region

A shot taken of Cygnus on July 8, 2002, from the Cascade Mountains near Lake Wenatchee. A Nikkormat EL with a 50mm lens was used, piggybacked to a Meade LX-200 telescope. 8 minute exposure taken at f2 with ASA 100 Fujichrome film.
